It is no surprise that our campaign is the target of the Democrat party and many independent liberal organizations. In fact, one of the first attacks came last week from the ultra-progressive Patriot Majority, accusing the Congressman of voting against Head Start programs for our pre-school children. What the ad does not mention is the effect the legislation would have on faith-based organizations. In fact, it contains no provision to protect these organizations. Under this legislation, a faith-based organization must surrender their constitutionally-protected right to take faith into account in their hiring practices in order to receive a federal Head Start grant.
