Battle Creek Mayor Mark Behnke Endorses Tim Walberg

“Responsive to the Needs of Our Community”

Jackson, MI- Battle Creek Mayor Mark Behnke today endorsed Congressman Tim Walberg’s re-election bid. Mayor Behnke serves the people of Battle Creek as both a public servant and small business person.

“Tim has worked overtime to make himself accessible to the citizens of Battle Creek. He has built strong relationships with many people, and has been responsive to the needs of our community. From the health care and public safety concerns of local residents to the national issues of energy independence and fighting against tax increases, Tim Walberg is working for us in Congress,” said Mayor Behnke.

“Senator Mark Schauer’s opposition to drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, Outer Continental Shelf, and ANWR will hurt the families, businesses, and government of Battle Creek. Senator Schauer’s vote in favor of the largest tax increase in Michigan history further damaged our economy and we do not want him to go to Washington to raise our taxes even higher and drive more jobs out of America just as he has driven jobs out of Michigan,” added Behnke.

“I am honored to be endorsed by Mayor Behnke, and appreciate his service to the people of Battle Creek as Mayor and as a job provider,” stated Walberg.
