Standing in the Gap

Jun 5, 2008

Our marvelous, majestic country is going down the tubes because of our the recent rejection of God, Prayer, the Bible, and our beautiful Constitution. It is imperative that the next generation would stand in the gap, and bring back the strong foundation that our forefathers built for us. This country was founded on freedom for the people and less government to rule in our lives. Why would we want government to take over our health care, (The greatest health care in the world I might add) when they can’t even keep a federal budget afloat. Now, I don’t want to sound whiny. This blog is not for ranting and raving about what’s going wrong, but when something need to be said, I’ll say it.

β€œAnd if a Kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.”
~ Mark 3:24

This Blogger is a testament to the privileges we share in this awesome country, because of the stones that our forefathers assembled for us through the Constitution, and of the blood that was shed by our brave men and woman serving in the armed forces.

β€œ
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

That particular clause in the Constitution has lost its original intent, time and again. Apparently, it is easy to misread the intent or the literal meaning of “make no law respecting the establishment of religion”. Those that came from England were escaping a virtual theocracy, and meant to establish a colony that allowed all denominations the ability to worship as they pleased without fear of persectution from the government. It did not, in any wise, mean that no religion was to be allowed within the public square. It has become apparent that Christian’s are now persecuted with ferver (and a zeal that hinges on the rediculous), by those Progressives that pervert the Constitution. It should also be noted that those that wrote the Constitution were not keen about putting the entire Bill of Rights into the document, specifically this segment at it relates to the Freedom of the Press. (see Federalist Papers). The main fear was that the Press would undermine the government and destroy the Republic, replacing the government with one preferred by a radical faction. It might be pointed out that in reference to Mike Huckabee, in report after report, the first line of introduction was: Baptist Minister, with no reference to the fact that he was a successful 10 year Governor, making him uniquely qualfied as a candidate. Additionally, when describing those that would vote to Mike Huckabee, the press used the words “Evangelical Christians”, as if this segment of the population were somehow..less than savvy when choosing a candidate (the same press that reports with vigor on a school sending home students near Christmas for wearing green and red - or Christmas colors!)
It made this Catholic from Massachusttes more inclined to support Mike Huckabee, understanding that his governing skills made him qualified to lead - the fact that he was a minister, went to character, and was a plus, not a negative. The fact of the matter is that the document is an amazingly strong testament to the men who came to these shores to establish a nation that was free of the burdons of excessive government. The document was not meant to be interpreted, rather it was meant to be a guideline, a law to create and maintain order. Those that would pervert the Constitution, are Progressives - those that are Progressive are zealots that have invaded our press, our educational system and, sadly, the Democrat Party.

How far can we stray from the way our forefathers originally ordained this awesome country with the fundamental, godly, and moral principles.

Thanks for commenting on my blog.

We must stand for this young country, lest it fall.
